It is common, in even the simplest of claims to obtain expert opinion from multiple practitioners.  When it comes to seeking an opinion on an individual’s work capacity, activities of daily living and ergonomic needs, medical specialists such as Orthopaedic Surgeons, Neurosurgeon, Occupational Physicians and Psychiatrists were being relied upon to answer these questions, however, most specialists are not suited to provide an accurate response. Simply put, it falls outside their scope.

Whilst work capacity, activities of daily living and ergonomic needs do fall within the scope of an Occupational Therapist, a comprehensive Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) comes at a considerable cost and covers many areas that can be deemed unnecessary for many individuals being assessed for personal injury or total and permanent disability claims.

Flexiwell Group partnered with Red Health, preferred medico-legal service provider, to facilitate 'Plus Service’ range.

The service range combines an independent medical examination (IME) performed by a Medical Specialist with a customised Functional Capacity Evaluation Lite (FCELite) which is performed by an Occupational Therapist (OT).

The ‘Plus Service’ range is designed to improve the accuracy of information used to assess an individual's functional capacity and any limitations or restrictions with their paid employment, activities of daily living (ADLs), leisure, social interaction, and volunteer work.

• One access point, one Letter of Instruction, one report.

• Cost savings by obtaining only the relevant evidence needed. 

• Real-time and measured evidence on an individual’s functional ability. 

• Provides indicators where full comprehensive FCE would be worthwhile, should this not be evident from the start. 

• Improves report quality and reliability of expert opinion.
